About Solar Energy

Solar energy is a form of renewable energy derived from the sun’s radiant light and heat. It is a vast, virtually limitless source of power, as the sun emits an astonishing amount of energy every second. The heart of solar energy generation lies in solar panels, also known as photovoltaic (PV) panels. These panels are constructed using materials like silicon, which can absorb photons from sunlight and convert them into electricity. To harness solar energy effectively, solar panels are installed on rooftops or open fields, facing the sun. The angle and direction of the panels are adjusted to maximize sunlight exposure throughout the day. Once sunlight hits the panels, the photovoltaic cells within them work their magic, generating direct current (DC) electricity.

Converting DC to AC

Most of the electrical appliances we use in our homes and industries require alternating current (AC) electricity. To make solar energy usable, an inverter is employed to convert the DC electricity generated by the panels into AC electricity. This step ensures that the power generated by solar panels can seamlessly integrate with our existing electrical grids and devices. Solar energy is not just about generating power when the sun is shining; it’s also about harnessing energy for use during cloudy days and nighttime. To achieve this, many solar power systems include battery storage solutions. These batteries store excess energy produced during sunny periods for later use, providing uninterrupted power supply.
